I purchased the Gemstone Mining Pail from Boxcar Mining Supply, and I'm thrilled with it! It's perfect for a fun family activity. My kids were excited to discover colorful gemstones, and I couldn't be happier with the quality of the pail and the gems inside. There were an amazing amount of quality gems hidden inside and it took quite a while to mine through all the material to find the treasure. The kiddos poured over their stones and spent a lot of time working to match all of them with the identification card that was included. Highly recommended!

My son is a huge fan of mining for treasure. We have done this at Great Wolf Lodge and many other little tourist places. He is a regular little geologist so I was excited to find this pail online to give him for his birthday. It arrived on time and provided hours of entertainment. I only wish I would have added a scoop of rough stones because I think that mixed with the polished ones would have been even more interesting. I really recommend this to anyone and I’m going to buy another bucket myself.

Product: Gold Panning Kit
I recently ordered the Gold Panning Kit from Boxcar Mining Supply, and it's fantastic! We found 10 flakes of gold in the paydirt – right at the top end of the 5-10 flakes advertised in the description. There were also lots of beautiful small gemstones and fool’s gold in the mix. They were a delight to find and I actually enjoyed them more than the gold personally! The paydirt is quality and the pan, tweezers, and vials make this perfect for practicing our panning skills. I recommend the kit for those who don’t already own panning materials and I think our next purchase will be one of the more expensive paydirt bags to find even more gold.

Product: Wasp Queen Bee
I have bought gold paydirt from a lot of places over the last few years. This Queen Bee bag from Arizona was a very nice surprise. It had quite a good amount of gold flakes and several bigger pieces – not quite what I’d call nuggets but decent little pickers. I like that the Wasp line of paydirts doesn’t have the gems or pyrite added that I find with some. The sand is very fine and I almost wish it had a little more substance to it so it would be more challenging with more black sand or clay. I guess Arizona sand just isn’t quite as heavy. The return of gold based on the price is slightly better than what I’ve seen as the average online – and a lot better than most of the crap you find on Amazon that hardly has any gold.

I surprised my niece and nephew with a pail of mining material when they came to spend a weekend with me. I got the basic rough gemstone mix but then added different goodies so they would have some really cool surprises. I added some gemstone hearts and amethyst rough pieces that turned out to be super amazing bonuses. I probably should have just splurged and bought two buckets but I wasn’t sure when I was first ordering and didn’t want to be the totally crazy aunt!! The kids were great at sharing though and made sure to divide everything fairly in the end. Then on Sunday they decided we needed to do it all over again so we put everything back in the sand and got double the fun! It was actually just as cool the second time around. Oh, and for sifting everything, I bought some little beach sifting trays at the dollar store and we just washed it all out in a little tub full of water I put in the backyard. Honestly, it all worked out even better than I hoped. Thank you, Boxcar Mining Supply for making me the coolest aunt ever!

I enjoyed the gold panning paydirt from Boxcar Mining Supply. It's an excellent way to get into gold panning, and the product quality is good for the price. It comes in a nice gold colored metal container. I already had a pan and found the amount of material in the tin was okay to do all at once but I chose to split in two instead. The description says it has 20 to 25 flakes of gold and I’d say I found about that. There were also lots of colorful stones and fool’s gold. I’d say it is a decent value.
